Within the context of globalization, the effective measurement of building spaces will facilitate greater investor confidence as it gives a standardized unit of comparison based on their needs. As there is no local law which determines the application of standardized measuring processes for buildings, we have seen industry wide variations in the measurement of spaces, which makes it difficult for investors to make an effective comparison.
The objective of Part II of the course is to utilize the concepts previously highlighted in the Measurement of Buildings Part I within the context of commercial and office developments, as well as to introduce the changes that have been made to how the measurements are done. This we believe, will create awareness of global requirements and foster change in our measuring practices.
